   Rebirth Of The Virgalona!

On Saturday July 28th, 2007 BWVKW in conjunction with the Mel Fisher Center held a press conference and re-christening party in Sebastian in celebration of the rejuevenation of the Virgalona which has been completely rebuilt. Well over a hundred salvors, friends, family and members of the public came to the Mel Fisher Center to see the recent gold finds BWVKW has brought up from the 1622 Santa Margarita site off Key West and to see the newly rennovated Virgalona. The BWVKW boat captains and crew were on hand to talk about the 1715 treasure still remaining to be located which Virgalona will play a major role in. W. Keith Webb, CEO & president of BWVKW hosted the gathering and introduced Dr. Eugene Lyon , the historian and consultant with the company, who has played a major role in identifying and locating the 1622 Atocha and Margarita as well as the 1715 wreck sites over the last 40 years. Dr. R. Duncan Mathewson III was also there to honor the original founders of 'Treasure Salvors Inc who assisted Mel Fisher in the underwater investigation and 1715 treasure recovery back in the 1960's. As a BWVKW partner and Archaeological Director of the company, Dr. Mathewson is working closely with a company consultant John Brandon and Capt. Greg Bounds to locate the heavy treasure cargo associated with both the lost 1715 sites and the Santa Margarita.
